Welcome, and we are glad you're here!
Heritage Hill Farm was founded in the fall of 2012. This land was offered by a 5th generation family farmer in the Ames, Iowa area. We have always talked about the possibility of having a farm of our own, growing some of our food, raising some animals, and enjoying the pace of life here. When this opportunity came up, right on the edge of town, we knew we would have regrets if we didn't act!
We are Adam and Jessica Krupicka.
This Spring, we are proud to announce a Community Supported Agriculture Program of our own. Our CSA will provide individuals and families in the Ames and the surrounding area, with a basket of fresh fruits and vegetables weekly from mid May to October. For $280.00, you can become a member of our program and receive your weekly basket of our seasonal offerings, either picked up at our designated location or delivered for a small charge.
We guarantee the freshest, most flavorful produce including: tomatoes, peppers, onions, potatoes, sweet corn, lettuce, beans, sugar peas, broccoli, onions, garlic, squash, melons, and much, much more. Some of the varieties are the traditional, tried and true ones but we also have some amazing heirlooms in the mix.
Early season in your basket, expect sugar peas, lettuce, radishes, green onions, squash, and more.
Mid season ( approximately July) is when the bulk of our vegetables are producing! Our tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, onions, potatoes, green beans, cucumbers, and much more will be ready. Perfect for those Summer meals and cook outs!
Late season is considered the late Summer and early Fall, and will feature winter squash, pumpkins, potatoes, carrots, and other vegetables that are still producing up until the frost.
If you are looking for additional quantities of fruits and vegetables, we will have some available as 'a la carte' or 'on the side'. We will let you know of additional weekly offerings and their prices- or contact us if you are looking for anything in particular. Maybe you are looking for extra tomatoes and peppers for a salsa project, or have guests coming to town and need additional vegetables for your menus- we will have plenty for your extra needs!
Or, catch us at local Farmer's Markets in the Ames and Des Moines area. We will post our schedule on the website and Facebook.
Also on our website, be sure to check out our biographies and meet the farmers behind your food! Also there, you will find our favorite recipes, see our product availability graphs, receive storage information, and updates from our farm on the latest projects!
After all, food shouldn't have to travel far.
